What to do when you can’t right-click

by Kyle on June 17th, 2007

As an Ubuntu user on a Macbook, my lack of a right-click button has been a pretty big annoyance. For those of you who didn’t realize, by default Ubuntu forces the F12 key to emulate the right-click button. Unfortunately, when I first installed Ubuntu on my Macbook (obviously I don’t have a right-click button) the F12 key was disabled by default. This is pretty frustrating and it took my a little while to figure out a workaround. Installing the package Mouseemu will reset your F12 key and give you the right-click menu on a Macbook using Ubuntu. Mouseemu works on all Debian distros. Ubuntu users can install mouseemu with the following:

sudo apt-get install mouseemu

Mouseemu - [packages.debian.org]

Cool. Do you know how to make control-click a right-click?

I am really new to Linux. I am extremely confused on how to do so many things, like install software, etc. But the biggest problem is that I am also on a MacBook, and have no idea how to get Ubuntu to see my wireless card. If someone could email me an answer, that would be great. Thanks.
