The Mac OS X counterpart to VMware player for Windows is available as a beta for Apple users. Virtualizing Linux is a great way to learn the operating system without taking the risk of diving in head first. Previously I talked about the bundled virtual machines available for Mac OS X. You can use these virtual machines in coordination with the free VMware Fusion to get yourself a Linux distribution in no time and with no risk. Install VMware Fusion beta

Download a bundled virtual machine

Double click the bundled virtual machine and get started
