The Free World: Help Write the GNU GPLv3
The GNU General Public License version 2 has been in effect for 15 years. Richard M Stallman and his crew at the Free Software Foundation have been hard at work producing version 3 for the past year. Now, in true community form, you (and me!) can view the draft and actually comment on it. This is, as the FSF’s legal director said, a rare opportunity for the public to make law.
Even if you’re not particularly interested in the law side of the house, the GNU GPL has given us GNU/Linux people much of what we have today and I think it behooves us to at least try to read the thing. And possibly contribute.
