Run Windows in Ubuntu using QEmu

by Kyle on February 9th, 2007

As long as we’re on the topic of running Windows applications, the Ubuntu wiki has an excellent post about how to run Windows as a virtual machine in Linux using QEmu. According to the Ubuntu Wiki, “QEmu uses kqemu, an acceleration driver, to run Windows at usable speed.” The wiki demonstrates how to install Vista to I would have to assume the acceleration driver works very well. QEmu was originally proprietary but was recently released into under GPL. If anyone tries this let us know how it goes.
