Qtopia phones run Linux
I didn’t really know much about Qtopia phones running Linux probably because I am not one who really looks for smartphones. I prefer phones with extra features, yeah, but nothing really to fancy. But it’s interesting to read about Qtopia phones which run Linux. They released what they called the Greenphone. And it’s one of the phones that are part of the “open phone movement.”
Phones running Linux should be an interesting gadget to watch out for in the market because it’s something that might actually become popular if the developers are able to create apps which would be at least at par or surpass the kind of apps that are available in common mobile phones like SMS editor, calendars, alarms, photo editors, media players and such. Another thing is that it seems that mobile phone users don’t really mind not knowing what operating system is running but what matters is that they are not hindered by the technology. Maybe it would be a less intimidating approach to users when it comes to an operating such as Linux which is still perceived to be too geeky.
