Linux gifts

It’s Christmas season. Not everyone really celebrates Christmas for different reasons but if you are, I’d like to know what your thoughts are regarding Linux Christmas gifts to friends who are Linux users and non-Linux users. Here are some of my ideas:

  • penguin plushie - It doesn’t have to be Tux. You could even make your own by sewing a Tux plushie.
  • Linux CDs/DVDs - Maybe you have been wanting to spread the Linux lurve. Why don’t you download a live CD of Linux distros which you could give to your friends and family. But before you do, just make sure that their hardware will be supported. It will be quite tough if you give them a Linux installer which they might end up not using. That will be sad.
  • Linux shirts - Your favorite sys ad or the friend who always helps you out in your newbie problems have to receive some love from you, of course! Why not give them a Linux shirt to show them your appreciation. ;) I am sure that Cafe Press and Think Geek have something!
  • Linux books - It could be a book about basic Linux stuff or it could be distro specific. The nice thing about this kind of gift is that you could borrow it later on if necessary. ;)

How about you? Any suggestions?
