Kiba Dock for Beryl Compiz

by Kyle on May 19th, 2007

Beryl, Compiz, and Mac OS-esque docks have been gaining popularity very quickly recently. The Kiba Dock (formerly Akamaru) leverages the Beryl and Compiz libraries to create some very impressive results that shame Vista Aero and OS X Aqua. Pimp Your Linux does an awesome job reviewing Kiba and showing some of the extremely impressive results. Have a look at the videos below and then jump over to Pimp Your Linux for the full review. FYI, if you’re interesting in installing Kiba on your Ubuntu Feisty machine here are the dependencies you’ll need to satisfy first:

automake1.9

cvs

Pango1.0-devel

GTK2-devel

gconf2-devel

Glitz-glx-devel

librsvg2-devel

Enjoy these impressive videos, and then read the review at Pimp Your Linux.
