HOWTO: Automatically Start a Program When KDE Starts

by Jon on September 28th, 2005

Want a certain application to start automatically once KDE has started?

  1. Open Konqueror
  2. Go to the Go -> Autostart menu option
  3. Right click in the right windowpane and select Create New -> File-> Link to Application
  4. Click on the Application tab and enter the name of the application to run

You can replace steps 3 and 4. Rather than typing in a command, you can copy and paste a program from the left menu pane into the right autostart pane.

Easy, huh?
