Geeky Fun: The ComsmoPOD Firefox Extension Solved.

by Jon on July 2nd, 2006

I think.

I’ve been wobbling back and forth about whether or not there was a No Machine Firefox extension for CosmoPOD. I thought it did, and then I thought it didn’t and then some thoughful commenters came by to tell me that it did. Turns out, they’re right (and I guess so was I way back when), it does.

I think the source of my confusion was two-fold. For starters, the Firefox extension only shows up as an option for the Windows version of Firefox. Therefore, when attempting to determine if it existed, I was looking at two different things at home and at work. Secondly, while the extension uses the typical Firefox extension dialogue to install itself, once installed it doesn’t show up in the extensions menu. Strange, but true.

So there you have it. CosmoPOD is a good solution for use in Windows-based environments via the Firefox extension, but if you’re running Linux then you’ll have to either use the Java client or the native No Machine client.
