Geeky Fun: New Linux User Podcasts.
As many of you know, I spent the bulk of last year producing 30 episodes of The GNU/Linux User Show. Kelly and I have moved on to our own independent podcast, The JaK Attack, but I’ve always felt a little guilty about leaving the podcast world without a new Linux user type show.
Well, Chess over at Linux Reality has now relieved me of that guilt. Linux reality is a new Linux podcast aimed at new Linux users. In the first 4 shows Chess has covered The GNU Project, Free Software, help resources, and an overview of the major Linux distros out there. In a weird sort of way, it’s like listening to myself. But better :)
If you’ve got a digital audio player, I highly recommend that you check out Chess’ show at Linux Reality.

The new show is well done and is a good source for new linux users. But I have to say that I liked the Gnu Linux User more. I found Jon to have a sincere interest in providing instruction and information and his easy delivery was enjoyable to listen to. I doubt I would have continued making the effort of becoming familiar with linux if it had not had been for his podcast, this website and his off air help.
Now that that’s out of the way….”I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore!”

I’m of two minds about The GNU/Linux User Show. I loved doing it because I felt it was valuable to the community, but I had a hard time doing it because it became too much for me to handle well.
I know The JaK Attack! Isn’t geared as heavily to either GNU/Linux or new users, but there’s a much higher chance that we’ll continue that show into the hundreds of episodes.
Sigh…there’s not 100% proper solution for me. I’m just glad we were able to leave 30 shows behind that will hopefully be useful for people.
