Unless your wanting to impersonate the mascot? :D Aka “large African antelope having a head with horns like an ox and a long tufted tail”.

Argh…I should read my own links before writing.
I agree - it’s a recursive acronym for ‘Guh-noo is Not Unix’. But that doesn’t change the pronounciation of GNU :)

I think they might be talking about the animal. The GNU appears to be their mascot.
