Bitnami - find the web app stacks you need
Thanks to one email from Pieter Temmerman, I learned about bitnami.org. It’s a site featuring various web app stacks which you could install without much pain. As they say, it would take only a few clicks. Neat huh? :D
The site gives only a brief description of the app stack so if you want more information, you’d have to go to the actual site. But at least you have something to whet your geeky appetite. Basic information that the site covers: short description, technologies used and licenses.
There are packages of stuff like Dokuwiki, as well as Liferay. Just check out the stuff there. It’s interesting and they have upcoming projects to package other stacks. Maybe you could check out their upcoming stack packages so that you could start experimenting with them and see if you’d like to use them for your site. I am thinking of using Dokuwiki again so I might get their package. :)
