Adding tabs to Vim

by Kyle on January 24th, 2007

In the past, it wouldn’t be uncommon for me to have upwards of ten terminal instances open for each file I was editing with Vim. However, with the recent release of Vim 7.0 a major annoyance has been remedied - Vim now supports the use of tabs. Now you can edit all of your documents in Vim with only one terminal instance open. Joe Brockmeier at Linux.com recently published a tutorial on how to setup Vim 7.0 to use tabs. Joe’s tutorial also includes tips on how to rearrange and shuffle between tabs.
