A Round-up Apps on Linux
Wow! Time flies and it’s been a month since I started blogging here. Let me give you a round up of the apps that I checked out:
- Installing applications using Kubuntu’s Adept Installer - a short introduction to the Adept package manager.
- Oracle 11g on Debian Linux talks about the release so that we don’t have to be Red Hat users or we don’t need a VM on Debian in order to run it.
- ABCDE - your command line CD-ripper which introduced you to a command-line tool to rip your favorite CDs.
- Linux text editors: Geany and Emacs — a brief listing of what I liked about them and why I recommend them.
- Reading scanned comic books via Comix tells us that we could continue to have fun reading comics on Linux.
- Printing handouts from OpenOffice.org Impress using ps2pdf + joinPDF mentions how two tools are useful for us Linux users with lots of presentations and other office-related stuff.
- Converting music on Nautilus via the Nautilus audio-convert script — so quick and easy!
- Checking out SIM on Nimblex was one of those experiments I made. I got curious about the instant messenger SIM and found it a bit weird but it has some nifty UI customizations.
I have yet to continue checking out SIM in order to give you a list of nifty features. ;) I hope you found these apps useful and relevant.
Are you thinking about new tools or do you have other apps that you found really nifty? Do drop by and comment so we could talk about it. :)
